WHERE NEIGHBORS MEET,
KIDS GROW UP, AND LIVES
UNFOLD.

From small towns to big cities, we're traveling across the country to tell the stories of the grocers who show up every single day for their neighbors. The ones who know your name, stock your favorites, and stretch your dollar further than you'd think possible. And along the way, we’re giving back — one lucky family will win $5,000 to fill their pantry for months, and $100 a day to many more.

WHAT IS ?

IGA is the Independent Grocers Alliance. Since 1926, we've been a network of locally owned grocery stores — more than 6,500 of them across nearly 30 countries — owned and operated by the people you know and trust.

Our job is to
level the
playing field.

There's strength in numbers. When thousands of independent grocers join forces, they can share resources and expertise that no single store could afford on its own — the kinds of tools that used to be available only to the big national chains. Think: better technology, stronger brands, smarter marketing, and the training to make it all work.

But IGA stores don't all look the same, and that's the point. Some carry the IGA name on their sign. Others have traded under a family name for generations, and that name means everything to the people in their town. Both are welcome here. What they share isn't a logo; it's a commitment to their community.

We support independent grocers across the industry, because every locally owned store that stays open keeps a neighborhood whole. When you shop at an independent grocer — whatever name is on the sign — you're supporting your neighbor and community.
